Parish Profile

Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church is a congregation of approximately 30 people with a small group of dedicated members carrying on the organizing of public worship and the life of the church. We have a beautiful, tranquil outdoor memory garden with fountain and benches. Our church has a full basement, housing a fully equipped kitchen, office space, childrens learning/activity room (although we do not have a children's ministry at present) and 3 washrooms including handicapped and a large gathering area with a piano.  Upstairs our sanctuary has a grand piano, keyboard and full drum set, a quiet room and washroom. We employ a part time church administrator, a role that will possibly be disolved with the hiring of a new rector. We are situated next to the high school and aquatic/fitness center and only minutes from the local golf course. Christ the Redeemer is actively involved with outreach through music and womens ministsry.

Our worship team, made up of singers and musicians, engages our congregation in the singing of a variety of traditional hymns and more contemporary songs on Sunday mornings and special events. Our music ministry also supports a popular Christmas Cantata Choir.

The womens ministry team has been meeting regularly on Wednesdays with sewing in the morning and bible study in the afternoon. Christ the Redeemer provides a complimentary lunch for all participants. Their sewing projects have included "Dress A Girl", a Christian ministry that provides suitable clothing for children at risk and gift bags to the graduating classes of the local elementary and secondary schools.

The congregation of Christ the Redeemer has a strong desire to grow and continue our existance as a Godly witness in the Pender Harbour community.
