Church School
Sundays during the school year, 9:45-10:30 a.m. for grades preK through 7.
Each Sunday morning during the program year (which parallels the public school year), children and youth church school classes meet in age appropriate small groups in a safe and fun environment staffed by experienced workers. During this time a lesson is given and expanded through discussions, games, crafts, and various other interactive events, concluded by snacks and free time.
PLEASE be sure to let us know if your child has any illness, allergy, or other condition that would benefit from accommodation in the classroom or youth group, or note anything that will help any adult work better with your child. It is our goal to accommodate all children in our church school and youth programs. Our church school and youth programs use email to communicate to parents. Please be sure to provide an email address, and let us know if you do not use email so we can use another method to get information to you and your family. It is important that children of all ages be signed in joining the nursery or a classroom. You will find a sign in form in each classroom. We ask parents of children up to 3rd grade to come to the classroom to pick up their children. Older children will be instructed to head to the main sactuary if their parent is not waiting for them at the end of class. While the formal part of class is over at 10:30, we will not dismiss children unless the service is over, so if the service is running long you do not have to leave early to collect your child. Sometimes a child may not feel comfortable going to class until they have spent some time in the church in the company of their parents. Parents are welcome to accompany their children to their classes until things are more familiar to them. We have a program outline that briefly covers each class for the current year. You are welcome to visit with the teacher after class and discuss the topics and your child's adjustment to the new surroundings. Please feel free to call or talk to any of the children and youth staff and volunteers about our programs or if you are interested in serving in childrens or youth ministry. There are also opportunities to help with special events and short term projects. Please let the children and youth staff know if you wish to assist.General Information about our children's programs
